Progress Note Guide
1. Start a new note
Select Progress Note from the homepage once you are logged in or select it from the top menu under the Generate Note dropdown.

2. Note Details
The first three prompts tell Psych Scribe how to set up the note. These include note style, session setting, and unit of treatment. All three of these prompts require an answer for Psych Scribe to properly write your note. There is also an optional date selector that will include the date of the session in the note so you don’t have to type it in later.

3. Session Details
The remaining prompts are all optional, if a prompt is not fitting for your session, simply click the Next button to skip it.
These Session Detail prompts are designed to extract the key details of a session, you do not need to select every last detail of a prompt, just think of the most prominent details of the session and include those.
Our prompt answers are designed to cover the vast majority of sessions but if you don’t see an option or answer that suits you, select the Other option or use the Additional Information text box to add your own details.

4. Additional Information
Once you have complete all the Session Detail prompts you will get one final prompt for Additional Information. This is where you can include anything about the session that wasn’t covered in the prompts, most often this is used to add details like a specific event or incident the session revolved around. It can also just be a place where you brain dump details about a session, you don’t have to be particular about spelling or grammar, our AI will handle that for you.
Remember to never include identifying information in any of the additional information text boxes.

5. Generate Note
Once you have completed all of the prompts, click the Generate Note button. It will generally take a few seconds for your note to be generated but can take up to 30 seconds.

6. Review Note
Once your note has been generated you can review and make edits to the note right in the text output box. Additionally on the lower right corner of the text output there is a play button that will read your note aloud to you if you prefer.
Once you have reviewed your note, simply select and copy the text or click the Copy button in the lower right corner to copy your note and paste it into your EHR of choice.
Note: This note is not saved in Psych Scribe, you must copy it to your EHR before you begin another note or leave the page.

7. New Note
If you’ve copied your note to your EHR you can now safely leave the page and start another note. If you would like to create another progress note, simply click the New Note button at the bottom of the page. If you would like to start a different kind of note, head up to the menu on the top right of the page and select the kind of note you would like to start from the Generate Note dropdown.
